Republic of Macedonia is a small country in South-Eastern Europe which passes through economical and epidemiological transition.

We need to harmonize many national legislations as a condition for our faster development and integration in the European community.

As a First President of the National Committee for Food and Nutrition and the First President of the National Codex Alimentarius Committee, as well as the WHO’s national coordinator for food and nutrition, I started to develop the process of harmonization of our national food law with international standards and European directives. The most important part of my activities was to support the implementation of many food- related recommendations, norms and guidelines for protection of human life and health. At the same time I recognized the importance for sharing the knowledge and experience and teaching the students about food safety as a global public health priority.
