This lecture is based on a paper of the same name, co-authored by Leslie L. Roos, Ruth-Ann Soodeen, Ruth Bond, & Charles Burchill. It describes several web-based tools, developed at MCHP to facilitate the research process.  We begin with a brief overview of the database system used in our research. 

The Manitoba Centre for Health Policy (MCHP) is a research unit in the Community Health Sciences Department of the University of Manitoba's Faculty of Medicine. MCHP does research on the health of Manitobans,  focusing specifically on patterns of illness in the population and how health care services are used in Manitoba.
