The occupational hygienists
still face a big challenge when trying to measure occupational exposure to diesel exhaust
and even more when trying to interpret the measurements in term of risk assessment.
Therefore pluridisciplinary research is urgently needed and before relevant results are
obtained the precautionary principle should be used to protect the workers’ health.
