With swift progress in development of semiconductor components suitable for design and production of solid-state high frequency and high voltage pulse power supplies a new generation of high frequency corona discharge ozonation systems is available for ozone production with lower power consumption. Strong growth of interest in ozone therapies mainly in veterinary field brought additional challenges in the form of urgent need for light, durable and reliable ozonation systems which meet requirements for unrestricted mobility. These outfits should have a) low capital cost and low maintenance cost; b) high conversion efficiency of oxygen to ozone to minimize gas waste; and c) a low power consumption or a very efficient coupling of the energy into the dissociation of the oxygen double bond.
