3/ Sporocysts develop from the miracidia. Sporocysts are second stage larvas that generate first- and second- generation of daughter sporocysts in some weeks (about a month).
4/ The second daughter sporocyst develops to become a cercaria, which is the larva that leaves the snail and enters into its final host, e. g., humans.. When a cercaria attaches to the final host, it penetrates the host's skin and enter into his cutaneous capillary vessel.
5/ The tailless cercaria is called the schistosomulum. It is carried through the systemic circulation to the mesenteric vein. The schistosomulum develops into an adult schistosome in a month. Within the final host, the male schistosome holds thefemale in its gynecophoral canal. At this time, the infection to the final host is completed.
