When we look at the normalized pharmacokinetics for the two compounds, we see that with rifampicin there is no time that the drug is present such that it is the only compound above its MIC. Thus we would expect to find no rifampicin resistance, and none was found. It is important to note that corrections have not been made for protein binding, since we are not certain that protein binding is important (5, 11).
