CUMULATIVE INCDENCE OF DM BY GDM CLASS

5-yr follow-up
X-axis: months, Y-axis: %
In the next couple of slides, I will present the consequences of GDM that has been identified from various epidemiologic studies. This line graph indicates survival. We evaluated the rates of DM after GDM by GDM classes. As shown, the highest conversion rate is seen in the B1 (red line) class, which is the most severe form of GDM. A2 (light green line) follows, and then, A1 (yellow line), which are milder type. The conversion rate in B1 was about 75% during the 5 year postpartum follow-up. The rates in A2 was about 55% in A1, 35%. This study clearly indicates that subjects who experienced GDM during pregnancy are at an increased risk for later DM.
