Available information on Iron deficiency and Anemia in the Americas indicate that 94 million people suffer from ID or IDA.
Using Anemia as an indicator of IDA, De Maeyer(De Maeyer,1985), from data collected from multiple countries by WHO, estimated that 50% of children and women and 25% of men in developing countries, and 7% to 12% in developed countries are iron deficient.
The table shows the burden of Iron Deficiency Anemia in the world.
