In Japan we have new tidal waves of disaster information system, both official and unofficial. However, we have to be more active to develop our disaster information systems.

Among the several components of the GHNet, transmission of information on disasters is one of the most important components. It is the mission assigned to the GHDNet in Japan to help individuals and organizations, irrespective of national or international, governmental, or non-governmental, to communicate with each other in case of disasters. The Internet will be one of the most important media for information transmission in the next disaster. Our efforts would dramatically improve the information flow to and from the stricken area, saving preventable morbidity and mortality in the next disaster.

I really apreciate you for your attention to this lecture.
