One problem with follow up studies of any kind are the interviewers. If the follow up is prolonged, the interviewers can be different, and even if they are the same they may become more efficient, or simply different, in the way they ask the questions. So the two applications of the same questionnaire would not be comparable.
Interviewers need to be carefully trained and supervised to assure comparability between studies that may be years apart.
