Succeeding

The University of Pittsburgh educates the whole student, helping each student succeed in a community that values the following:

Ø       Communications skills. Pitt students are known as people who write and speak well. They are comfortable with computers and technology, and aware of the variety of cultures in the world, including the diversity of our own country.

Ø       A sense of self. Pitt graduates are reflective people who have thought long and hard about personal, professional, and academic goals.

Ø       Motivation. A variety of stimulating experiences -- internships, international and study abroad program, connections to the city of Pittsburgh through our Pitt Arts program, and easy access to other offerings -- provide motivation for the challenges of meeting the high academic standards of the University.

Ø       A sense of responsibility. Most of all, Pitt nurtures clear-thinking individuals who feel a responsibility to society. The University provides volunteer opportunities and encourages students to get involved with the community. Pitt students are aware of society’s challenges and participate in meeting them.

This site – Succeeding at Pitt – is intended to serve as a useful and focused reference for all Pitt students. Here you can find links to a broad range of information and resources, as well as a number of questions and answers that current students wrote in hopes that their peers would find them helpful. We welcome your feedback and suggestions as we continue to develop this site.
