What Pitt students say. . . Q: Regarding
schoolwork, what is the worst possible thing that I can do? A: Getting behind
on your readings will leave you with hundreds of pages to read a week before
a test. Keep up with your
readings, follow the syllabus closely, and mark it on your calendar. You will thank yourself come test
time. Q: Why does the length of the winter break keep changing? A: It’s connected to when classes start in the fall (the
Monday before Labor Day) and when they need to start back up again in
January. The academic calendar gives 15 weeks for the fall term and 15 weeks for
the spring. If Labor Day is late, then the winter break starts later, too,
but it has to end right after New Year’s Day in order to fit in 15
weeks by the end of April. Resources Ø
