Panther Sports Club Network

The creation of the Panther Sport Club Network (PSCN) was announced during the spring of 2008 by the Office of Student Life and the SORC. The Mission of the Network is to provide the sport clubs the opportunity to work together for the common good to develop a synergy that will make the impact of the Network greater than the sum of its individual teams.

Daniel Grancea, the head coach of the Pitt Rowing Team, has been assigned the responsibility to develop the Network in concert with the officers of the certified sport clubs.

The goal of the Network is to enhance the campus presence of the competitive sport clubs, to create and maintain a Network web page with links to web pages for each sport club, to assist with recruitment, help administer the annual recertification of clubs and help with maintenance of accurate rosters and waivers as required by the certification process. The Network serves as a tool for the clubs to communicate, cooperate, share expertise and develop their own collective agenda.

The Network meets monthly and discusses various aspects related to successfully running the sport teams in concert with various University departments, dealing with allocations, fundraising, website situations and much more…

While voluntarily participating in the Network all sport clubs maintain their current level of independence in operating their clubs. At this time the Network does not have a formal structure or officers. The Coordinator and club officers will determine the path and form the Network will take in the near future.
