One room in a 2 Bedroom apartment in
Amberson Apartments (on Morewood Avenue) is available for sublet. My roommate had to return to Turkey because of a family problem, and I am looking for someone to take his place. The room is available immediately. The lease ends in mid-August. You will share the apartment with a male graduate student at CMU. A male graduate student is preferred. The rent is 470$ (your share) per month, including all utilities (electricity,heating,gas). The apartment is in an apartment complex which has its own security. It is very close to the CMU campus (~10 min walk), somehow close to Pitt Campus (~15-20 min walk), 1 min to CMU shuttles A and AB and UPitt shuttle, very close to 71C bus stop (1 min), close to Giant Eagle ( ~10 min walk). The room is furnished with a full size bed, a bookshelf, two large tables and several other stuff and they are pretty new (only 4 monnths old). They are also available for sale if you wish. The apartment is furnished. The Division of Student Affairs is
allocating a $1,000 Book Award for the annual Penny Crary Diversity Award
for University of Pittsburgh Juniors. The purpose of the award is to
recognize one full-time junior for their efforts in promoting diversity
within the University and/or the community at large. This Book Award will be
allotted in two $500 Book Awards one each term of the student's senior year. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Students must be currently enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh as a full-time undergraduate. 2. Student must be a junior about to enter their senior year at the University. EVALUATION CRITERIA 1. Leadership: Demonstrates leadership in promoting diversity. Examples may include, but are not limited to: garnering resources and support for diversity initiative(s); overcoming obstacles and barriers to diversity within the Division, University, and/or community at large. 2. Innovation: Demonstrates innovation in designing and implementing diversity programs. Examples may include, but are not limited to: designing state-of-the-art diversity initiatives; implementing model diversity programs; initiating partnerships to broaden diversity efforts; acquiring funding through new sources; creatively using resources to implement diversity programs. 3. Tangible Results: Efforts to promote diversity have resulted in measurable results. Examples may include, but are not limited to: tangible results toward increasing or furthering diversity within the Division, University, or community at large. Nomination Procedure: Both self-nominations and second-party nominations are acceptable. Nominations must be submitted on the official application form - available in 119 William Pitt Union. Specific and/or measurable examples of accomplishments relating to the evaluation criteria must be described thoroughly. Nominations must be received by 5:00 p.m. on February 15, 2004 in the office of James Cox, Director, Counseling Center, 334 William Pitt Union. The winner will be notified by March 31, 2004. No late or incomplete applications will be considered. Selection and Award Procedure: James Cox, Director of the Counseling Center, will appoint and lead a committee to review nominations and to select the winner. |
