Here you will find details about the different activities we host or participate in.

The Ultimate BBB Quest

This will be our first and most important trip this year.  We'll gather in front of William Pitt Union at the Fifth Avenue side at 1:45pm and leave at 2:00pm.  We'll divide ourselves in groups of 3-4 people so that all members can get to know each other along the trip.  Then we will head towards the lake in Schenley Park behind Phipps Conservatory.  There we will remix the groups into groups of 3-4 again.  The task will start from here.  Every group will be given a specific task to accomplish.  The exact task will be provided in the activity.  The groups will have about an hour to accomplish their objectives.  After that we will gather again and every group will share their successes and each member will have to name the people that s/he has been with in the trip.  At the end we will go to eat together somewhere (it'll be decided later).  We expect to return back to campus around 5 or 6pm, this is just an estimate.  This activity should be lots of fun, and it's your best opportunity to get to know your friends in the club, so do Not miss it!

If you are really curious of what tasks the groups will be given here are little hints.  One group will need somebody experienced with fishing.  Others will need someone who is not scared of insects.  Some others will need to collect something (we'll not till you right now what the thing is :) )  And there are several other stuff that are so much fun.  So if you have some outdoor talent your group will really need it!  It's the Ultimate BBB Quest!

We'll need some digital cameras, about one for each group, so if you have one please bring it with you.

One more thing, this activity will be in the scheduled date no matter what the weather is, so dress accordingly, if it's raining then dress something that will keep you dry.

No more hints about the activity, you need to come to see what surprises we have for you!

Guest Speaker Jen Sorochinsky

She will be our first guest speaker this year, and she'll be talking about New York Chiropractic College.  This is a good opportunity to know what other colleges have to offer and what opportunities await you after you graduate from Pitt.  We'll try to audio tape the speech so that if you have a class at that time you can request a tape, or if you did attend and you found it really interesting you can have a chance to obtain a copy of the tape.

Schenley Stewards

This is a wonderful project in which we go take care of trees in Schenley Park, plant flowers, & have fun together as a group.  It's something really worth it.  You can check our photo gallery for cool previous pictures about it.

The Biology Study Night

This activity usually takes place on Thursdays the week before the finals in the Cathedral of Learning commons room area from 7pm-11pm.  Tri-Beta provides food and snacks and invites different biology professors to attend and have office hours during that period in order to help students for last minute things before their finals.  All students (not just those in Tri-Beta) are encouraged to come participate in the activity whether by just coming to study in the Cathedral with your friends or coming to seek help from your professor.  The tutoring committee usually sets up a help table too.  This activity has been very successful in the past years and the club is keeping it up.
