Tau Beta Sigma Gamma Omega "Tau Beta Sigma for Greater Bands" |

Pitt BandOh, yeah . . . we all go to school once in a while too. Most of us attend the main campus of the University of Pittsburgh (a few regularly attend Carlow College, Chatham College, Robert Morris College, the Community College of Allegheny County and Duquesne University and cross-register at Pitt for marching band.) Although it's a big city school, the Pitt Band and Tau Beta Sigma bring us together into a little community within our big school and we wouldn't trade it for the world. There may be more than 15,000 full-time undergrads here at Pitt, but a day doesn't go by that you don't see someone in a Pitt Band, Pitt Drumline, Pitt Colorguard, or Pitt Golden Girls hat, pullover, t-shirt, or warm-up suit. It is said that Bandies are like cockroaches . . . if you see one, there's bound to be 30 around the corner. So, the next time you're in the Cathedral of Learning, Schenley Cafe, Hillman Library, Forbes Quad Computer Lab, or just walking around South Oakland, take a good look around and you'll probably find one of us. Oh, yeah, if you were wondering . . . Pittsburg (with no h) State University is located in Kansas.
Serving the University of Pittsburgh Department of Bands is the primary function of the Gamma Omega Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma. More than that, the Pitt Band is our family . . . and Tau Beta Sigma is a family within that family. We all pride in knowing that we are members of one of the greatest bands that has ever been. |
