Motivation

The "other" is not our adversary preventing peace but our ally we brusquely ignore when seeking it. It is in this spirit that the forum Session: Middle East was created. All peoples have different ideologies, creeds, cultures, and traditions. With such diversity, conflict at any point is inevitable. However, in our current world, it is often a lost concept that these differences are solvable diplomatically. Session: Middle East is a forum seeking to reinforce this concept. This forum will challenge you to view conflict through the eyes of the other who is ultimately your partner in forging peace through understanding. As events have shown, the current generation in power in the region and abroad have not met this needed initial requirement for peace. It is up to us, the generation next-in-line, to formulate and devise novel approaches to bring the necessary social changes required to welcome rather than to skepticize about the "other". This forum is designed to provide the experiential environment to make our first steps in this objective. Our region of focus is the Middle East, but the methods are universal.
