how it works.

Redeye Theatre Project (RTP) is a 24-hour play club. What that means is that, for every performance you attend, RTP has spent the past 24 hours writing & rehearsing a festival of brand-new plays for you to enjoy.

The clock starts when the playwrights' pens hit paper (or their fingers hit the keyboard). We take a bit of time before the actual 24 hours begins to allow the playwrights & directors assigned to a particular performance to get acquainted, & to cast the shows, but that's all the extra time we get. 8pm Friday to 8pm Saturday: the show really must go on.

The work we produce is all original, all written on the spot. Many of our playwrights don't write outside the confines of this club; many of the plays we produce will never be seen onstage again (& if they are, they'll almost certainly be heavily revised). That means attending an RTP performance is a one-of-a-kind experience. Worth the $5 admission, no?
