The club went to Marion, Ohio on March 7-8 to compete against other students from high schools
and colleges. We won our first match but lost the second. A good time was had by all.
Objective:
Build remote-controlled robots to play floor hockey: your robot vs. the other group's robot.
Simplified Rules:
Wooden boards form the field boundary. There is a small goal box on each end.
The robots have to fit in a 1x1x1 foot cube.
Robots move using wheels, and handle the puck with extensions built onto the front.
Each group has a different set of motors, wheels, and "stick" to handle the puck.
Game winner: Robot with most goals after 5 minutes of play.
Overall winner: Round-robin tournament, followed by semifinals and finals.
