New Players

The PWRFC embraces individuals of all skill and experience levels. A number of current members were athletes in other sports prior to joining, and the skills learned have translated well to rugby, whether it be hand eye coordination or simply the ability to work with others. Positions in rugby are diverse, requiring players of all strengths, speeds, and sizes, so no matter your body type or athleticism, there is a position for you!

Whether you came out of the womb scoring tries, have never set foot on a pitch in your life, or just have a deep, yearning desire to be badass, come out and join us at practice! All you need to bring is a passion to work hard and a willingness to try new things. Bring cleats and a mouthguard if you have them, if not sneakers will do and be sure to wear comfortable athletic clothes. Caution: You will get dirty!

We are a fun-loving, hard-working group of girls and would love to have you join our team. If you are a current, incoming or prospective student and are interested in playing rugby at the University of Pittsburgh please contact a captain or secretary or simply attend a practice! In the fall, weather permitting, you can find us on the Cathedral Lawn Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings, from 6-8. Our spring practice schedule is less concrete, for an up to date schedule check out the practice schedule page and come check us out!
