Here's the minutes for Tuesday:
This weekend there's a backpacking trip. Its happening on the Appalachian trail in Boiling Springs. The trip plan is for around 20 miles, 11 or so miles on Saturday and 8 or 9 miles on Sunday. The group is leaving Friday night around 4 or 5 so if interested talk to Moss.
After Thanksgiving on the first weekend of December there is a mountaineering trip planned. Its planned to be near Seneca rocks and the goal is to actually sleep on top of Seneca rocks.
A bit of future planning includes the Wilderness First Responder course being offered. It has a price tag of 500 dollars and a 50 dollar deposit will be needed before christmas or right after break. The course takes place from the 9th to the 11th in March and activities are happening on the second and fourth weekend in March. If interested talk to Sam
Once again, pool sessions are back and happening on Thursdays from 9 - 11ish. All you need is a bathing suit and its best if you know how to swim. Talk to Astrid if interested.
IMPORTANT --- If you have gear out, remember to have it back by Christmas break, inventory takes place during this time and if there are any questions or special circumstances talk to Tom.
For all of those out there who are 21 and over come fill out a driver form, help the club out. Even if you're not 21 you can become a Trip Leader, all you need to do is talk to a Chair and plan out and event.
For you photographers out there or those of you with pictures that you want to see up on the website or those of you with trip reports, send them to the new webmaster, Zach. Attach the pictures in an email and send to zpw2@pitt.edu or drop off a cd to the cubicle or drop it off during the meetings.
I. Fundraisers
a. T-Shirts are being ordered, so if you want to get them at the discout price of 8 bucks, order them before Christmas, if you'd rather wait they can be purchased for 10 bucks after Christmas depending on what is available. The shirts will be white with a black design....but they will be tye-dyed!!! Remember, order now for the best price!!!
b. POC NALGENES—buy a Nalgene, support the club, and prevent leached plastic toxins from getting into your system. 1 for $8 and 2 for $15
II.GEAR HOURS
a. Tom (tea7@pitt.edu) will be waiting for you to break up the boredom from 4-5 on Mondays
b. Adam (ant7@pitt.edu) will be writing a thesis on how to save the world from 1:30 to 2:30 on Fridays.
c. Please come at least 5 minutes before gear hours end!!!
And yes, it’s coincidence that they’re email numbers are both sevens and that they are roommates and outdoor enthusiasts. I don’t know why, but maybe Mark Nordenberg does.
III. DUES
If you're new to the club and you haven't paid dues, they are ten dollars now for the rest of the year. Usually they are 15 dollars for the year or 10 dollars per semester.
IV. OTHER STUFF
There will be no meeting on Tuesday the 21st, thats next week. You can show up but no one will be there.
If you are not recieving emails, talk to Todd to get on the list.
Also start thinking about spring break trips, there are alot of neat things to do during this free time.
