February 2000:

Get-Together of Pitt and CMU kids in the La Fiesta restaurant.

April 2000:

Our Nowrooz 1379 celebration was a blast, especially thanks to the wonderful traditional Iranian dances performed by the University of Maryland Persian Dance Troupe headed by Nassim Ebrahimi who came all the way from the DC area to perform! Also thanks to our own Jassem Bastaki, who's wonderful mastery of the OUD (ancient Iranian string instrument) added to the flavor of the night! Lastly thanks to Mrs. Bozorg, Mrs. Ghajarnia, and Mrs. Etemadi for their wonderful Iranian and Afghan dishes. Unfortunately, our pictures did not come out except a couple that Nima managed to salvage from Dorna's camera. They are on the members page.

August 2000:

Our pride-packed presence at the University of Pittsburgh's Freshman Students Activities Fair managed fo find us a few new members, including our Japanese-Iranian officer, Payam! Morad promises he's going to remember to bring the pictures for us someday soon, so come back to see them.

October 2000:

So OK yaar, we got hungry for some Indian food and organized a hot and spicy group of curry-Iranian people to eat and have some fun at the India Garden Restaurant in South Oakland.

Halloween 2000:

Five of us packed up the old MEHDI-Gmobile and attended the Philadelphia Persian Society's Mascarade for Charity Halloween party which benefitted drought relief in Iran. Cheers to the PPS for a job well-done!

Fall Iranian Movie Madness:

We were fortunate enough to organize and go see Bahram Ghobadi's 'A Time for Drunken Horses' and Makhmalbaaf's 'A Time of Innocence.' Who says Pittsburgh isn't cosmopolitan?!
