2004 Officers of ISCA!

Ali S. Manesh  This year is Ali’s second year at Pitt. He is majoring in Neuroscience. Ali is thinking about becoming a dentist (I hope I don’t have any teeth left by that time!). Ali is crazy about soccer. His teammates call him Alessandro Del Piero. Poor Alessandro! They play regularly either on the field court or in front of the computer with FIFA 2003.

Arash S. Mazarei is a Shirazee from head to toe. He is majoring in Computer Science and Business Management. Arash’s interests are the broadest possible. From raising funds for the education of kids in third world countries to feeding the pigeons in Mellon Square downtown! With his restless efforts, Arash founded the Iranian organization at CCAC when he was a student there. Arash’s seriousness in introducing Persian culture to non-Iranians cannot be overstated.

Azita K. Elyaderani is also a sophomore at the Pitt. She is majoring in Bioengineering. Azita loves dancing especially Persian Dancing. She also likes meeting new people and traveling around the world. It is not difficult to distinguish her from the other officers, not because she is the only girl, but because she talks English with an Esfohoni accent! She claims she receives offers from model agencies very frequently! (Personally, I can't believe this!)

Treasurer:

Kian Homayoonfar is an Iranian who was born in Iran and grew up in the United States. He is in his junior year and is majoring in finance. He spends his spare time reading about political issues, which is his minor also. Kian’s hobbies are playing baseball, tennis and Play station. He is also good at shooting pool. He spent a few of his teenage years in France. He talks French fluently and “Il espere qu’il peut retorner a Paris dans l’avenir!!”

Public Relations:

Sorna H. Javadi is a junior at Pitt. He is majoring in Biology. (Yeah! A typical Iranian student who wants to get a M.D. and make his mom happy!). He believes he is a descendent of the Zandieh Dynasty (Give us a break Sorna!). He enjoys watching and playing basketball. His favorite movies are Carlittos Way and Top Gun.  Sorna joined the ROTC program in the summer of 2001. His boot-camp stories are legendary now and are going to be published on the internet very soon!

Mehdi Ghajarnia is a medical student at Pitt, the founder of this wonderful club, and is still a major part of the organization.  He believes strongly in young people being proud of their heritage through discovery and knowledge, because tolerance and appreciation of other's culture begins with one's own.  Activism, unity, and self-expression of our proud Iranian heritage should thrive in the freedom of this great country rather than be permitted to whither.

                           Thanks To Our Former Officers
