An Explanation of the Sponsorship:

The IHSA was established in 1967 to encourage equestrian competitions for riders of any skill level regardless of finances. Students compete individually and as a team at these shows. The host college provides the horses for the competition, and riders are randomly paired with their horses for the day. It is a challenging experience that develops sportsmanship, team enthusiasm, and horsemanship.

Pitt competes in Zone III, Region 3 against the following schools, and is currently ranked 4th for the 2002-2003 season.

Penn State                                West Virginia University                        Dickinson College

Seton Hill College                     Penn State-Fayette                               Westminster College

Indiana University of PA           Juniata College                                     Duquesne University

Wilson College                         California University of PA                    Slippery Rock Univ.

            Edinboro University

The Panther Equestrian Club will be hosting an IHSA show on October 26, 2003 and we are asking businesses for their help. Hosting an IHSA show serves as a major fundraiser for the club. The money raised from this show will help with lessons for our club members, and will help with showing costs for our team members. With our club and team at twenty members and growing rapidly, these fundraisers help to defray the costs of riding and competing.

We are asking people to consider placing an advertisement in our program and/or sponsoring a class, jump, or ribbon. The programs are seen by approximately 200-300 people; including students, parents, coaches, stable owners, and more. If you would like to receive a copy of the program in the fall, please indicate on the sponsor mail-in form, and we would be happy to mail one to you.

If you have any questions, please email pitt_horses@hotmail.com or call Kate at (412) 983-7116.
