I had never touched a disc before coming to Pitt. My neighbor freshman year in Towers was
Jake Symoniak, who played A his freshman year. He was the first to really introduce me to
the game of Ultimate. Jake captained B his second year with ESN and encouraged me to come
out and play. Basically, I've been hooked ever since. I was pretty awful when I started
playing, but luckily my skills from soccer quickly transferred over and I'm now playing
alongside some of the best.
I know some players don't think they can play with their schoolwork and other activities,
but the key is to manage your time well. I have 3 majors, pre-med, on the SHAC board for
the Honors College, volunteer, do research, and play for ESN. Manage your time and
anything is possible.
I'm looking forward to kill some teams this season.
HARD WORK.
