"See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?"
Isaiah 43:19
Local History
The Fall of 2002 was a period of preparation for
the
establishment of Alpha Lambda Omega Christian Sorority, Inc., on the
University
of Pittsburgh campus. After accepting
the
vision that was planted on her heart, Founding Sister Vicky E.
Bonhomme gained support from Founders: Wanda
Applewhite, Jonette Baptiste, Sophia Duck, Kimberly Kendricks, Tarah King,
Diane
Miles, Sharlene Parks, Nathalie Robin, Michelle Summers, Joya Williams,
and
Krystle Williams.
With hopes of bringing this vision to reality, this group of God-fearing women began to meet weekly to seek God's purpose for their lives. After the initial meeting on September 8, 2002, the Founders began to develop genuine Christian relationships with each other. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and direction from the National Executive Board, these ladies laid the foundation for the charter line. By the end of September, Ms. Donora Craighead, Ms. Gwendolyn Watkins, and Ms. Tiwanda Taylor accepted the Lord's calling to serve as the group's Advisors.
With God's grace and sufficiency, the Iota Samuel Chapter was officially founded in March of 2003. The Alpha Genesis line consisted of nine women that crossed into the organization as Lambda Ladies. Sorors Nicole Alston, Wanda Applewhite, Vicky Bonhomme, Kiyana Chisley-Johnson, Sophia Duck, Diane Miles, Nathalie Robin, Michelle Summers, and Julia Wilson are now working diligently to add soldiers to the Kingdom of God.
Grace and peace from God
