CELEBRATING 60 YEARS OF AED AT PITT

AED is a professional organization for undergraduate students interested in health professions like medicine, dentistry, poditry, optometry, osteopathy, and veterinary medicine. Here at the University of Pittsburgh, AED is one of the most active student organizations. Our meetings and functions are open to all undergraduates regardless of their major, and formal membership is also available.

AED functions include the following activities:

Peer Counseling: trained upperclassmen and medical students team up with individual undergraduates to advise them about course registration and academic progress.
Academic Advising: we provide help with applications to graduate school, interviewing skills, and preparation for exams like the dreaded MCAT.
Keynote Speakers: esteemed faculty give presentations on admission requirements, research opportunities, etc…
Volunteer Opportunities: in hospitals, the community, and in research.
Social Events: parties, food, meeting other students like yourself
Health Professions Counseling Office: works in conjunction with AED for academic advising.
C.F. Reynolds Medical History Society: We attend monthly lectures on the history of medicine at the University Of Pittsburgh
