Welcome to the website of STUDIES IN SLAVIC CULTURES (SISC), a scholarly, illustration-friendly journal published by members of the Slavic Department at the University of Pittsburgh, with support from the Center for Russian and East European Studies. SISC consists entirely of analytical articles by graduate students, appears annually, runs to approximately 120 pages, and is devoted to Slavic culture.

The theme of SISC XII will be POP AND PROPAGANDA. We welcome graduate-student submissions investigating any aspect of the topic in relation to Slavic verbal, visual, aural, written, or performative culture. The deadline for submission is TBA. Please note the guidelines for submission and format.

SISC IX: ALTERNATIVE CULTURE and SISC X: POSTMODERNISM are now available. Write to sisc@pitt.edu for information on ordering copies.

SISC XI: EVERYDAY LIFE is forthcoming in January 2013.

SISC is indexed in ABSEES as an online journal.
