About Me

I am a Senior at the University of Pittsburgh majoring in Computer Engineering. I am also pursuing minors in Industrial Engineering and Mathematics. I am from Horsham, PA, a small suburb approximately 25 minutes north of Philadelphia.

I was born in China, and soonafter moved to the U.S. 6 months later. I moved a few times within the U.S., living in Salt Lake City, UT, Potsdam, NY, as well as in Hatfield, PA. I have lived in Horsham for the last 19 years.

My Research

University of Pittsburgh Department of Computer Science

I am currently doing research with Dr. Donald Chiarulli with the University of Pittsburgh Computer Science Department. My research involves the simulation and testing of H-Networks on 3D Digital Dies. The purpose of my research is to show that these H-Network designs are better than traditional designs, and that they can take greater advantage of 3D chip design.

University of Pittsburgh Department of Rehabilitation Science and Technology

I am also currently working for the University of Pittsburgh Department of Rehabilitation Science and Technology, designing and building assistive devices for blind, handicapped, and disabled children and adults. Devices include a range-finding device to assist blind patients to walk the proper distance from a wall, as well as an MP3 interrupter device that helps to train disabled patients to perform certain tasks.

My Co-Op

From January 2009 to May 2009 and also August 2009 to December 2009, I worked a co-op rotation at BMW Manufacturing Co., LLC in Spartanburg, SC as a computer engineering intern in the IT Pre-Development (FZ-51GV) department.

On my co-op rotations, I have been responsible for managing and developing several small programming projects. These projects were both individual and done in small teams. Some projects included developing iPhone applications as well as simulation supplier forklift traffic and predicting future warehouse forklift needs to improve warehouse efficiency.
