Traditions Committee

 

OVERVIEW

 

The Traditions Committee shall work to foster within undergraduates a strong and lasting connection to the University of Pittsburgh through the exposure and increased awareness of current and past PITT traditions. The primary focus of the Committee shall be to target freshmen and incoming students. Actions of the Traditions Committee may include:

 

Augmenting Freshman Programs courses to include PITT history and traditions.

Introducing a course on PITT history and traditions.

Working with Reslife, RAs, and Arrival Survival teams to create ÒPITT PrideÓ programs for orientation that shall continue throughout the year.

Working with the OAFA staff and Pathfinders to create ÒPITT PrideÓ programs for PITTstart Sessions.

Working with the Athletic Department and the Alumni Association to improve current PITT traditions.

Continuing to administer the Paint the Panthers Program.
