Freshman Affairs Committee

 

OVERVIEW


Freshman Affairs Committee is an opportunity for students to reach out to freshman and create a bond between Student Government Board, campus organizations, upperclassman, and freshmen. Promoting freshmen involvement on campus opens doors to many networking opportunities for both those working on the committee as well as for those freshmen themselves. Community service and Leadership positions team up and encourage everyone to make the most of their stay at the University of Pittsburgh.

 

OBJECTIVES
 

Promote freshman involvement with Student Government Board as well as other organizations on campus.

Provide networking opportunities for first year students to become more involved on campus.

Hear and speak the VOICE of freshman students campus wide.


PROGRAMS & EVENTS

 

Internships - with campus organizations, including SGB, as well as hospitals, law firms, etc…

Community service projects

Freshman Handbook - Everything a freshman would ever need to know about the University of Pittsburgh.

Meet the Board -(carnival) around arrival survival weekend.

Luncheons

Town Hall meetings

Host Dances - new idea “Survival Formal” around mid September

Field Trips

After Parties
