Diversity Committee

OVERVIEW

The Diversity Committee shall address the concerns of University of Pittsburgh students related to diversity on campus. The Committee should use an expansive definition of diversity to include issues not just of race and ethnicity, but of religion, gender, disability, sexual orientation, and other matters with the potential for discrimination. Furthermore, the Committee shall enhance existing diversity on campus by fostering cross-cultural discussion and cooperation. Support should be given upon request to any Board Member projects that directly or indirectly involve issues of diversity. Actions of the Diversity Committee may include:

Actively lobby issues of diversity to the administration.

Provide an outlet for students who have experienced ill-treatment related to diversity.

Continue the Zero-Awards program.
