The Allegheny Insitute of Natural History sponsors and co-sponsors community outreach programs on various topics.

The Perspectives on the Environment Series was originated in 2000 by Dr. Stephen Robar, an assistant professor of Political Science who specializes in Environmental Policy, and is co-sponsored by the Alleghney Institute of Natural History. Various topics relating to environemntal issues in the region and various formats are followed. All presentations are free and open to the public.

In addition, AINH has presented community lectures on whitetail deer in Pennsylvania, the West Nile Virus, mad-cow disease, back-yard birding, and amphicbian ecology.
