The Allegheny Institute of Natural History offers a variety of education courses during the year related to natural history and environmental studies. Most of the course are for undergraduate college credit and are one to four units. Courses targeted specifically for in-service teachers may also be offered for graduate and ACT 48 credit. Courses taught during Fall and Spring are semester-long courses. The ones offered in Summer are of varying lengths from one to six weeks. College credit courses are usually taught on a rotation schedule. Consequently, not only current classes are listed, but also past classes and tentative future classes. Future plans are to offer two to three day continuing education classes on special topics such as Nature Photography, Stream Macroinvertebrates, Spring Wildflowers, and Invasive Plants.
