The scale is based on the performance of 183 students taking
Midterm 1 and Problemset 1 in the Fall 2000 semester.
The scale will be used throughout the semester and allows each student
to calculate her or his grade at any point in
time. You need to look at the relative weights for each assignment
to figure out your exact grade.
For example, if you scored a 94 on the first problemset and 82 on
Midterm 1, your score is
(0.10 * 94 + 0.20 * 82) / (0.10 + 0.20) = 86,
which translates in the overall lettergrade B+
