My name is Santhiya Mahilkanthan. I was born in Staten Island,NY, but I spent most of my life in central New Jersey.I'm from Princeton Junction, NJ where I attended West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South. Throughout high school, I was a varsity cross country and varsity track runner. Because I spend most of my time outdoors, I also have a great appreciation for the environment. I have been volunteering at a nature preserve for the New Jersey Audubon Society for about 3 years.
I plan to major in Civil and Environmental Engineering, but before I applied to pitt, I wanted to pursue Bioengineerin g. After a little soul searching during the last months of high school, I decided that Civil and Environmental engineering was a better fit for me.
During childhood, my parents traveled a lot and took me places like europe and asia. Ever since, I have had an interest in architecture and design. I am thrilled to take this opportunity to design a public garden with both aesthetics and function in mind.
