For Safety's Sake

Tip 1:
Interested in helping improve campus safety? Students can become safety volunteers, receive special training, and assist residence life staff in fire safety procedures.

Tip 2:
Upon request, Pitt police community relations officers will conduct apartment security surveys and Crime Watch programs. For more information, call 412-624-4040.

Transportation

Campus Buses and Shuttles

The Pitt transportation shuttle system runs year-round (except during winter recess and spring break), seven days a week, 21 hours per day, to all parts of campus as well as to north and south Oakland, Chatham College, South Side Sports Complex, and the Center for Biotechnology and Bioengineering. Service runs on a reduced schedule during University holidays and the summer term.

Fixed-route buses and shuttles stop at well-lit designated points along their routes. Their main campus stop is either the William Pitt Union bus shelter or the Cathedral of Learning bus shelter. After 7 p.m., all fixed-route buses and shuttles provide on-request drop-off anywhere that is safe to stop along their routes.

For more information, visit the Buses and Shuttles Web page.
