Environmental Studies is an interdisciplinary program
of study. Therefore, students are not only required to meet with
their primary advisor each semester, they are expected to develop
advisory relationships with faculty members from other disciplines
as well. The purpose is to foster the development of research and
critical thinking, and a program of study that meaningfully bridges
traditional disciplines. Faculty advisors work very closely with
students to develop independent studies, internships and experiential
learning opportunities. The expectation is that students will complement
their coursework with these applied learning experiences so as
to make for a more meaningful college experience – and to
enhance their resumes!!
