Now on line -- The Rice Report®:   A more or less weekly commentary on stupidity wherever we find it, from the perspective of a disenfranchised academic insider, viz., me. Inflammatory News of the Day

    (Scroll to view older news)

Have you been duly "inflamed?" I sure hope so! Then you might want to read more stories just like this in Dr. Rice's Stack of Stuff -- otherwise known as "Inflammatory News of the Day!" We have also added to the Stack of Stuff the Archive of Truth About Irak, a list of news stories that tell you what the liberal media doesn't want you to hear--the evidence that links Saddam to Bin Laden, the 9/11 hijackings and WMD's.   Just click here, where you're, hopefully, seeing red!!

About this page:   If you are viewing this page with Netscape Navigator®, and everything is working as it should (which it usually doesn't), you'll be able to enjoy some inspiring background music. On this page, the background music is a song called Davy Crockett's Dad. You will find the pages on this site to contain a mixture of--on the one hand--serious information for my students, information on my research in philosophy, and--on the other hand--humor, anecdotes, stories, satire, sarcasm and cynicism, the latter group directed at current cultural, academic and institutional inanities. If you are a political liberal, you'll be curiously unable to appreciate these. Indeed, you'll find them damaging to your self-esteem. Don't feel bad, it's just the way you are. Liberals can't help it. In fact, the litmus test of a political liberal is to tell him a joke about Hillary Clinton--or any politically correct topic--and then watch how he accuses you of mean-spirited intolerance. You'll be amazed at how often this test works. If you are currently a college student, you can test this claim in almost any of your classes. Chances are quite good that given any randomly selected course in which you are enrolled, the faculty member teaching it, be he professor or teaching assistant, is at least a subconscious liberal. At the appropriate time during class, raise your hand and tell the offending joke--better yet, sing the lyrics to Al Yankovich's Bimbo No. 5. Then, simply note the reaction. I must accompany this suggestion with a warning--the success of your experiment could be injurious to your grade. Use appropriate caution.

For those of you interested in information about philosophy and philosophy courses at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, because I am the Philosophy Department, this is also the web site thereof. What course information there is will be posted here when I can make it available.
