Hi. My name is Robert Edward Carey, from the town of West Chester, PA, a little city just outside of Philadelphia, where I previously attened West Chester East Senior High. I enjoy many activities, including soccer, running, baseball, reading books, watching movies, and just relaxing with my friends. My favorite activity out of all those is playing soccer. I have been playing soccer for almost 15 years and I hope to play it for the rest of my life. It is a fun activity that helps you stay healthy while having fun with your friends. I have to decided to major in mechanical engineering based on my enjoyment of designing and building and my strengths in math and the sciences. I choose Pitt because it is strong academically and offered me the best deal in scholarship aid. I am very happy with my choice of colleges, and am fitting into the area very well. With my choice of engineering as my major, I hope to make a difference in the community. The job of an engineer is to fix the problems that happen around him and that is exactly what I enjoy doing. I find pleasure in helping others and making things run more smoothly.
