Joining ROA

We welcome all officers of the seven uniformed services of the United States - Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Public Health Service, and NOAA Commisioned Corps - to join ROA.

Any Officer or Retired Officer in any of the Reserve Components (including National Guard) is eligible for Active Membership.

Any Officer or Retired Officer, other than those eligible for Active Membership, or former Officers whose separation from the service occurred under honorable circumstances is eligible for Associate Membership. This includes any current and retired officer of the Regular Components of the services who has never held a Reserve commission.

Note that all newly commissioned officers, including academy graduates, are now initially receiving Reserve commissions and so are eligible for Active Membership, and the first year of ROA membership is FREE for newly commissioned officers.

Any member of a service academy, a Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC), Officer Candidate School, or other program leading to a commission is eligible for Officer Candidate Membership.
