Engineering 0715
Rebecca McGinley

I am a student in the engineering program at the University of Pittsburgh where I hope to major in chemical engineering. I chose the Pitt because it has a good engineering program and it was far away from Texas. I am truly enjoying this opportunity to be on my own and I feel like Pitt was a good choice for me. The reason I chose chemical engineering specifically have always loved chemistry and sciences in general. I feel after my first semester now that I know even more about chemical engineering, I know it is the right choice.
Originally I am from Austin, Texas where I went to Anderson High School and did the IB diploma program. In high school I was active in French club and Girl Scouts. I worked throughout my junior and senior year and really enjoyed myself. Now that I am in college I spend a lot of time studying, and talking about how I should study more with my friends, but I still find time to goof around.
I hope that my experience in this engineering class will help me become better prepared for my future career in engineering and I look forward to this semester.
My engineering team is working on creating walking routes in the Hill district to connect different "Green-Up" lots, and may help in the design of the lots themselves.
