Genetic Algorithms and Neural Networks
Genetic algorithms
and neural networks both examine biological computation
with multiple goals, scientific understanding and potential application
among them. The papers listed below examine a simple idea in which some
layers of a feedforward network adapt gentically while others use
synaptic modification. This simulataneous adaptation by a population
and adaptation by individuals is a central issue in the emerging field of
Artifical Life.
