Plan to arrive at the Petersen Events Center by 12:00 noon. The ceremony will begin at 1:00 p.m. Enter the Petersen Events Center by way of the Lobby Entrance nearest the Ticket Office. This entry will be marked for Faculty and Platform Party only; therefore you will not need a ticket for entry. Once inside the building, proceed directly to the Old Aerobics Room, located on the Event Level (signs will be evident and staff will be on hand to direct you).
Once inside the Old Aerobics Room, staff members will be on hand to arrange the faculty in two groups. The first group will be comprised of faculty who have been asked to serve as a hooder to a graduating doctoral student. The remainder of faculty will follow by school order. Please remember to wear in the procession any honorary medallions you have received.
Participants in the Commencement ceremony are required to wear academic regalia. If you do not own regalia, it may be purchased at the Book Center. The prices are as follows:
Bachelors Cap, Tassel, Gown and Hood $42.00
Masters Cap, Tassel, Gown and Hood $48.00
Doctors Cap, Tassel, Gown and Hood $61.00
If you are planning to attend the ceremony, please complete the following and send to the Office of Special Events. Your response is very important as it determines the amount of seating to reserve for faculty.
