The Pitt Partners Program
A pilot mentoring program for new faculty members
at the University of Pittsburgh

 

 

 

Welcome to the Pitt Partners Program!

 

The Pitt Partners Program is a mentoring program for new faculty members at the University of Pittsburgh. The program is unique in that it provides faculty mentoring outside of the home Department, helping new faculty members to learn about the University and expand their networks.

 

The 2006-2007 academic year is the pilot year for the program. While the number of participants is limited during the pilot phase, the program will be expanded in future years to allow greater participation.

 

The objectives of the Pitt Partners Program are:

  • Increase organizational knowledge
    • Increase new faculty members’ knowledge of resources available at the University
    • Help new faculty link their work to the mission and vision of the institution
  • Enhance positive work relationships with the University
    • Help new faculty members feel supported by the University
    • Enhance the commitment of new faculty members to the University
  • Develop support networks and build community across the University
    • Help new faculty members understand the expectations of them
    • Help new faculty members learn what is needed to succeed
