Positioning and Localization in Wireless Systems

Past research on positioning and localization in wireless systems has looked at developing performance models for location fingerprinting using WiFi signals (in terms of accuracy and precision) with the goals of (a) understanding how the number of APs visible matters (b) what is the impact of radio propagation - i.e., how the RSS varies and how it impacts errors and (c) whether the labor of collecting location fingerprints can be reduced while keeping the accuracy/precision relatively the same.
