Do you think you have what it takes to rock Bigelow Boulevard? Sign up for Pitt Program Council's Battle of the Bands to win a chance to open for Saves the Day and Motion City Soundtrack at Fall Fest!

Bands that are made up of 50% of current Pitt Students are eligible to compete. Bring your best riffs and rhythms to blow the judges out of the water!

Rules for the competition:

1.) At least 50% of your band must be Pitt students and must present a copy of their valid student ID's *at the time of sign up*. (If a copy of the Pitt Ids is not present at time of sign up, the band must go to the back of the line until copies are obtained.

2.) The first 10 bands in line will sign up to play in the competition plus 2 alternate spots. The first alternate will be called if one of the 10 acts drops out and the second if an addition band drops out.

3.) Each band will have 15 minutes to set-up and play.

4.) There will be judges to evaluate performances based on skill, difficulty and presentation.

5.) The two top scoring bands will open for Saves the Day and Motion City Soundtrack on Bigelow Boulevard on October 4th.

The first runner up will play from 2:00 pm-2:30 pm and the winner of Battle of the Bands will play from 2:45pm-3:30pm.

Sign-ups will take place on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at 10 am at the Pitt Program Council window in the WPU. Sign-ups will be first come, first served.
