Marilyn, my wife
This photo was taken
in October 1980,
shortly before we were married.
Marilyn and I first met in the early evening of September 29, 1979. She had
just arrived from the United States to spend a year teaching at the school
in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where I had already been working for a couple of
years. During the course of the next eight months we spent a lot of time together and fell in love. I proposed to Marilyn when we were on holiday in Cairo. The rest, as they say, is history.
We were married on November 29, 1980, at St. Peter's Roman Catholic church in New Kensington, a suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. My mom, Lucy, my oldest sister, Mary, and my oldest brother,
Gerard came over from England to represent my side of the family at the
wedding. The reception was hosted by Marilyn's mom and dad, Anne and Augie, in their beautiful home on Ridge Avenue in New Kensington.
