Surf's Up Website!
Acknowledgements
I am grateful to the following individuals and organizations for their help in the development of materials for the Surf's Up! summer sessions for children grades 3-7.
Jeanne Susko, and the Community Enrichment team at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, Johnstown, PA, USA.
The web66 discussion list community. I have incorporated many of their valuable ideas into the design outline for each of the sessions.
In particular, I am grateful to the following Webb66 folks who responded in person to my request for help: Yvonne Marie Andres, Eliana Braga, John Derrick, David Dobbins, Judy Duvall, Sheila Greemore, Hazel Jobeh, Dave Leahy, Suzie Medders, Pete Nowacki, Tammy Payton, Clayton Ramseyer, Dan Rubin, Ellen Sheerin, Bob Stahr, and Karen Walkowiak.
I am grateful, too, to the following websites for ideas, materials, and/or graphics which have helped embellish these pages and enrich my students' learning experience:
The themes for each day are adapted from the first stanza of the hymn "All Things Bright and Beautiful," by Cecil Frances Alexander, 1848 (Reference from Bartlett's Book of Famous Quotations, 16th edition, 1992).
I am grateful to Elaine McCreery, my teaching assistant for the sessions, whose parental instincts and teaching skills nicely complemented my own.
Finally, I am grateful to my wife, Marilyn, who continues to be fertile ground for ideas and constructive criticism.
Many thanks to one and all. The sessions would have been less effective without your contributions!
