Operation
Campus Watch-
Operation Campus Watch is a joint effort among the Pitt
Police and the students, faculty and staff of the University
of Pittsburgh working together to prevent crime.
Staff
Association Council (SAC) - The Staff Association
Council is an official University organization for shared
governance composed of elected representatives from
classified University staff not covered by a collective
bargaining agreement. SAC maintains an important communication
link between staff members and the administration and
makes recommendations to the University administration
on matters of general University concern, particularly
staff related issues.
The Police Department brings the issues of safety and
security to the organization.
Crime
Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED)
Task
Force on Alcohol Issues - Established in conjunction
with Student Health Service, Residence Life, Student
Government Board, Athletic Department, Government Relations,
Panhellenic Association, Pitt Program Council, and Pitt
Police. Five objectives are implemented for the success
of this program.
1. Develop a coherent and consistently enforced alcohol
policy
2. Develop resources for academic administrators and
faculty
3. Increase communication with area constituents and
parents
4. Develop a social norms marketing campaign to spotlight
normative drinking behavior
5. Increase publicity and support of alternative social
and recreational events
